Why do we use organic cotton?

organic cotton

What the big deal is with organic fabric? Just like the fabric treated with chemicals in the manufacturing process, let me break it down:

What is organic cotton and why use it for your baby's clothing?

Organic means free from harmful toxins or chemicals. Farming organic cotton allows for a safe and sustainable material for your child's gentle and sometimes sensitive skin. Organic fabric is a safe alternative for those with and without allergies, as it is required to be free from toxic residues, pesticides, heavy metals and formaldehyde along with other potential biologically and eco harmful methods of farming. Organic farming methods support the land and the ecosystems around them. Also organic cotton is never grown from genetically modified seed. It provides a viable alternative to the large-scale conventional farming model. Farmers work without the presence of toxic synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and that's good for both their own health and the health of the land they farm. But even if you don't have a preference or sensitivity, organic always feels great on the skin.

The organic cotton hold up beautifully through wash after wash. It gets even softer over time.

GOTS and OEKO-Tex certification

Organic certification is necessary to protect the integrity of the organic production process. All of fabric Hey BB uses for their items are certified organic by one of the following two leading certification agencie: GOTS or OEKO-Tex. Both entities ensure that textiles are truly organic at every stage of production - from ginning, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labelling of the final product.
